Every year St. Anne's has activities and events that have become a tradition
for us.
- For Lent, our parish also participates in the Ecumenical Lenten Lunches,
put on by the Billerica Clergy Associations.
- For Holy Week and Easter, several things have become traditional.
First, there is Maundy Thursday service. On Good Friday, we have two
services. The traditional Good Friday Liturgy is held at 12 noon. At
7:30 PM there is a Way of Sorrows service. On Holy Saturday, we have
a Children's service and Easter Egg hunt, where the children get to
make their own matzah bread - as Jesus and His apostles probably had
- and then hunt for eggs as the matzah bakes. Finally, on Easter day,
a delicious breakfast is held in between the two morning services by
the Youth Group.
- The second Sunday in June is always known as Recognition Sunday. At
this time we celebrate the youth and their leaders for the past year.
- An All-Parish Event is held at least once a year. The event could
be a sit-down chicken dinner, or a cookout - complete with games. Whatever
it is, it always has food!
