Catechesis of the Good ShepherdFor children preschool to grade 3, we offer the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. If you have any questions concerning this program, please see click on the link above (on the word Catechesis), speak with Ron Desmarais or Brenda Komarinski. You may also contact the church. Exploring the Bible programLisa Kinser, who designed this program, is very excited to begin the third year of this program. This year the children will be learning about the stories in the Old Testament of the Bible. Each class is divided into four sections. The pre-session, the perspective, the probe and the personalization. The goal of the pre-session is to draw students into the lesson by involving them in an activity. The perspective gives a background introduction to the subject for the day. The probe presents the Bible teaching in a creative and exciting way that brings the Bible event to life. And finally the personalization allows the student to understand how the lesson applies to their lives. This year we will continue using the points program. This is an incentive program that gives points to students for their participation in class activities. For further inquiries, please contact Lisa through the church or at LMKINSER@aol.com (New) Program for 7th & 8th gradersWendy Kessler will begin teaching Sunday school for the youth in grades 7 and 8. The classes will start on Sunday, Oct. 2 and meet every other week. Wendy will be using Faith in Motion, a national curriculum specifically designed for this age group. Faith in Motion incorporates scripture passages with relevant issues confronting our preteens. The students will be challenged to discover how Jesus impacts their relationship with family, friends and church. Wendy is looking forward to teaching this year.
