Recent Happenings at St. Anne's

December	At the beginning of the month, the Youth Group held a breakfast in between services. After the 10 AM service, an Advent Wreath workshop took place. Advent Quiet Day was on the 8th from 10:00-2:00 PM. The church was locked during this time and there was a welcome silence. Hopefully it was a time to pray and reflect and be still in the busyness of the season. On Christmas Eve Day, we held our Silver Tea service at 1 PM for our senior members, a Christmas pageant service put on by our youth at 5 PM, and a 'midnight' service at 11 PM.
November	Our Annual Holiday Fair took place in the middle of the month. Many great crafts and other items were on hand. During the evening of this weekend, we held a Party Book and Spaghetti Dinner.
	Craft workshop was held for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd youth educational program. The focus of the workshop was for Advent learning materials.
October	As is our custom, and in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, there was a Pet Blessing during both services. Dogs, cats, gerbils, hamsters, snakes, lizards and more were present!
	Our Youth group held a Car Wash.
	A Newcomer's reception was held at the church for all those new to St. Anne's.
	Our Fourth Annual All-Parish Event took place. Kudos to Rosemary Kinser and the vestry for a delicious spaghetti and meatball dinner! There ended up being two surprises. The first was that a St. Anne's embroidered linen was shown to the parish. This linen had the embroidered signatures of St. Anne's members from either the 1960s or 1970s. Everyone present was asked to sign this cloth so that their signatures could be added to the linen also. (Stay tuned for further info on when this cloth will available for further signatures as well.) The second surprise was that the Men's Group was given a silver plate from the original Men's Group of the 1890's!
September	For the Church School program, we began the school year with a parent orientation for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. We also expanded the Catechesis to include 7-10 year-olds. Rev. Peggy implemented a new Sunday school program for the 5th and 6th grade students.
	Kathy Jeffrey, a parishioner who had a heart transplant, preached at both services early in the month. It was quite an emotional and inspiring sermon!
	A new fellowship group at St. Anne's, The Men's Group, held an inaugural meeting with a breakfast.
