December

Holiday traditions were on tap for this month:

Advent Quiet Day was on Saturday, Dec. 7th from 10:00-2:00 PM. The church was locked during this time to provide a welcoming silence for all who attended. It was a time to pray and reflect and be still in the busyness of the season.

On Christmas Eve Day, we held our Silver Tea service at 1 PM for our senior members, a Christmas pageant service put on by our youth at 5 PM, and a 'midnight' service at 11 PM.

November Once again St. Anne's held its annual Holiday Fair. Many fine crafts from our parishioners were on display, as well as delicious baked goods. The Anneacreons also served favorites from the grill and the soup pan. In the evening our Party Book and Spaghetti Dinner was held.
September St. Anne's hosted twenty-seven people from our sister town of Billericay, England for worship during two Sundays in September. We also held a combination brunch/tea by the good hands of the St. Elizabeth's Guild.
Lent

During Lent this year, the Lenten video series will focus on Religions of the World. They include Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Roman Catholicism, Protestantism, and Islam. The series will follow the normal Wednesday services of Holy Eucharist at 7:00 PM in the Nichols Room.

On Holy Saturday, we also had a special children's Easter Service. We held a Liturgy of Light service (based on the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program). Following that there was an Easter Egg hunt.

February

The month began with St. Anne's hosting the the Lenten Ecumenical service at the Congregational Church on Andover Road near the town's center. St. Elizabeth's Guild prepared the luncheon. Later that evening at 7:30 PM, an Ash Wednesday service with Holy Eucharist was held.

At the end of the month ten people were confirmed and two were received into the Episcopal Communion by the Rt. Rev'd Arthur E. Walmsley, XII Bishop Connecticut, retired. He stayed for a delicious potluck luncheon organized by Marguerite Massey, Judy MacPherson, and Doris Hamner.

January Our Annual Meeting was held at 10:30 AM on January 20. A brunch was served, and it included some entertainment from our youth. Some played guitar while others danced! As would be expected, new leaders were voted in, and many thanks to those leaders whose terms had expired!
