Recent Events - 2003

December Our traditions continued this past Holy-day Season. On Christmas Eve Day, we had our the Silver Tea service at 1 PM for our senior members, a new Christmas Pageant service was at 5 PM, and the 'midnight' service was at 11 PM.
November It's November, so that means that we held our annual Holiday Fair. Crafts, baked goods, Christmas items and the like were all on hand - products from the hard work of our parishioner. The Anneacreons (one of our social groups) staffed the chuck wagon, offering hamburgers, hot-dogs and other things from the grill and the soup pan. In the evening our Party Book and Spaghetti Dinner was held, offering over 100 prizes that were won.
October

The month started off with our annual All-Parish event at the Masonic Lodge (right next to the Billerica Common). We had a pasta dinner and this year's entertainment was a game of 'Who am I?'. During the game, everyone had the name of a famous person from any age on their back. Only by asking one question per person could you guess who you were.

The day after the All-Parish event, we had a Bishop's Visitation. During the service, Bishop Bud Cederholm confirmed and received 11 parishioners. Outside of the service, Bishop Cederholm met and spoke with many of the parishioners. We had an excellent potluck luncheon for the Bishop that was organized by the St. Elizabeth's Guild.

September What better way to start the new church year than to have food! Well that's what we did early in the month. We had our Welcome Back Brunch, complete with fresh fruit, quiches, pastries, cereals, juice, coffee and tea!
June The month began with Recognition Sunday, a day in which we recognize the service of those who help make St. Anne's what it is.
Toward the end of June, the Thrift Shop and Gardening Angels held our annual Flea Market and Strawberry Festival. The sun didn't shine this spring, but the smiles from the strawberry shortcakes did!
Lent

Once again, St. Anne's participated in the Ecumenical Lenten Lunches that were held at the First Congregational Church. St. Anne's hosted the first luncheon on Ash Wednesday.

This year's video presentation was "Jesus: The New Way"

January Our Annual Meeting was held at 10:30 AM on January 26. Our youth put on a brunch for us. They also did some of the entertaining! There was an electric guitar. There was an electric bass guitar. There was karate! There were dances! As for the meeting, our new leaders were voted in, and many thanks given to those leaders whose terms had expired!
